The documentary, Jumping in Puddles,
was born out of a desire to tell the very
real and powerful story of Natasha Bray who
drowned along with 5 of her friends and their
teacher in the Mangatapopo River, Tongariro
National Park, New Zealand.
Natasha Bray was not that keen on testing
her mettle in the great outdoors, but she
felt the fear and did it anyway leaving
behind her a legacy that can speak to us
all. Her saying Jumping in Puddles
challenges us to live life differently, the
way she would if she were still among us.
Just 16 years old when life dished up an
unexpected tragedy, Natasha had already
proven herself a born leader. |

It's not often that one so young can
influence so many people, yet in her
community she was a highly respected and
well-rounded contributor. Her peaceable
approach to life, her resolute determination
to look for the best in others and her
courageous attitude towards the things that
scared her are all aspects of her
personality that can challenge us all.
The documentary features exclusive
interviews with one of the survivors
and follows Natasha's parents as they
retrace her final journey with
beautifully shot footage of the river gorge
bringing a poignant counterpoint to the
tragic tale of that April afternoon.
